🚨 Beach Drama: Man Rescued from Quicksand Near Disaster! 🌊

Imagine a day at the beach turning into a real-life thriller! Rescue teams sprang into action at Morecambe Beach after a man became trapped up to his chest in quicksand with the tide rushing in. ⏳
Bay Search and Rescue were in the middle of a routine patrol when they received the emergency call at 11.30am. The situation was dire—a man was caught at Silverdale and in danger as the big tide was quickly filling in the bay. 🌊

On arrival, rescuers found him lying back in a soft gulley, visible only from the chest up. He was thankfully positioned in a way that kept him from sinking further, but he was exhausted and showing signs of hypothermia. 🥶

Heroically, the team deployed inflatable rescue pathways to reach him without falling into the peril themselves. They worked swiftly to free him, and within minutes, he was on solid ground, able to crawl to safety.
But the drama didn’t end there. As they were leaving, the tide started to fill the gulley where the rescue happened—a chilling reminder of the close call. 🌊
The brave rescuers transferred him into their vehicle to rewarm him, wrapping him in foil blankets and assessing his condition. Thankfully, he was handed over to Northwest Ambulance Service for further care, fully out of harm’s way. 💪
Huge thanks to the dedicated folks from Bay Search and Rescue, Arnside & South Lakes Coastguard, Cumbria Fire & Rescue, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, and North West Ambulance Service who made sure this beachday didn’t end in tragedy. 🙏
Stay safe out there, folks! And always keep an eye on the tides when you’re by the sea. 🌊💙
