A heartbreaking incident unfolded in Upton Park, east London, where a child has sadly passed away following reports of a chemical odour in a flat. Firefighters were called to Barking Road after two adults and two children went to the hospital due to the smell of chemicals. Despite receiving immediate treatment, one of the children could not be saved.
In response, around 12 residents from nearby properties were evacuated as a precaution. With precision and care, specially trained firefighters scoured the premises to locate any hazardous materials and ventilate the area thoroughly.

The alert came in at 1:18 pm, prompting a swift response from fire crews based in Poplar, Millwall, Euston, and nearby stations. By 4:23 pm, the main operations concluded, though the investigation spearheaded by the Metropolitan Police, with the support of the fire brigade, remains ongoing.
