Tragic Losses Lead to Closure of Prominent Welsh Company

After over 70 years of being a cherished part of New Tredegar’s community, Radford’s Dairies has closed its doors. Since starting in the early 1950s, this family-run business was more than just a dairy; it was a symbol of dedication across four generations. Founded by Ronald Radford, who delivered milk from his home on Jubilee Road, it expanded through the hard work of his son David and daughter-in-law Marian. The tradition was carried on by Ryan Radford and his son Jack, who braved snowstorms, rain, and even the challenges of a national lockdown to ensure the community had its daily milk.

Sadly, in May 2025, Ryan passed away at the age of 54 after a battle with cancer. The community came together to honour him, fulfilling his wish of a final journey on his beloved milk float. Despite Jack’s best efforts to continue the business with his family’s support, the tough decision to close was made in October.

Jack shared heartfelt gratitude, saying, “Radford’s wouldn’t have been the same without our incredible customers who welcomed us into their lives. Friendships were built, and memories made that we will treasure forever.” The Radford family extends a massive thank you to everyone who supported them, proving that community love and loyalty are truly priceless.
