“Revamp Planned for Welsh Caravan Park to Close Loopholes Exploited by Residents”

Exciting changes are on the horizon for a Mumbles caravan park! Swansea Council is stepping in with new rules to ensure fairer access for those on the waiting list. As it stands, residents can transfer their plots within three named individuals in their family. However, that’s about to change. These plots will soon go directly to the next person in line on the list, ensuring new families get a chance to enjoy the park.

Why the update? Auditors flagged some issues, highlighting a nearly £14,600 shortfall in licence payments from previous holders. To tackle this, the council plans to introduce measures like upfront payments or direct debits and will go back to paper licenses for better tracking.

This council-run site, boasting over 60 plots, has a long list of eager potential residents, and these changes aim to streamline the process. A council officer mentioned some significant changes in the works for the coming months, ensuring that by April next year, the park will have turned a new leaf.
