Heartbreaking news from Carmarthenshire as we mourn the loss of 14-year-old Leon Arundel, who tragically passed away following a collision near Llangynog. Emergency services were called on Wednesday afternoon, and despite being rushed to the hospital, Leon sadly succumbed to his injuries the next day.
Leon was a passionate rugby player for the Carmarthen Quins under-15 side and a dedicated member of St Clears AFC. Tributes are pouring in, with a minute’s silence planned before the Quins’ upcoming match and a number one shirt—representing Leon’s position—will be laid on the pitch as a heartfelt tribute.
The Carmarthen Quins shared their sorrow: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the tragic loss of Leon. He played with us for three seasons and will be sorely missed by teammates, coaches, and anyone who had the pleasure of meeting him. Our deepest condolences go out to Leon’s family and friends.”
