π¦ Swansea’s speed camera on Llangyfelach Road is BACK after being out of action for a whole year! π

Remember when it was mysteriously cut down a year ago? Well, after all this time, it’s finally been replaced! Initially, there was a Β£1,000 reward for anyone with info on the crime, and after thorough investigations, South Wales Police have arrested a man on suspicion of causing criminal damage. However, due to insufficient evidence, no further action was taken.

These average speed cameras are vital for keeping our roads safe, especially in areas like Llangyfelach Road where the speed limit is 20mph. They help enforce speed limits by calculating a vehicleβs average speed between two points. If you go over, the camera’s got you β license plate, date, time, and all those details sent right off for review!

Why the fuss about speed cameras? GoSafe, the road safety bods, place them in spots that either have high collision rates or where speeding is a regular concern. And yep, they listen to local community worries too. With reported incidents of reckless driving, these cameras aim to make our roads safer for everyone.
Fun fact: this month, four additional 20mph fixed speed cameras will be popping up in other parts of Wales! ππ¨
