Is your home drowning in clutter? You’re not alone! A recent poll shows that three in 10 Brits say they don’t have enough space for all their belongings. With 44% of us living with stress-inducing clutter and a quarter too embarrassed to have guests over, it’s definitely a national challenge!

Most of us have that one room dedicated to storage, and two more rooms that have somehow become storage spaces. Whether it’s clothes bursting out of wardrobes, stacks of paperwork, or piles of empty suitcases, we seem to be losing the battle against clutter.

Now, here’s a shocker: 90% of households have a loft, but the average person only ventures up there six times a year. In fact, 6% admit they’ve never set foot in theirs. This overlooked space could be the solution to our storage woes!

LoftZone is encouraging estate agents and developers to utilise lofts better by making them more accessible and including them in property listings. The idea is to see lofts as a ‘hidden floor’ that can boost home value, assist with energy efficiency, and offer much-needed storage.
Currently, many of us reserve the loft for festive decorations, with 27% only heading up there for Christmas. But imagine using it year-round! Dust, spiders, and inaccessibility are key deterrents, but tackling these could add around £8,326 to your home’s value.
Small changes like adding loft insulation and raised boarding can transform this space from a dusty dumping ground to a functional and energy-saving area.
Is it time to reframe your loft as an essential part of your home? Give it a makeover and unlock all that hidden potential—your dream uncluttered home might be just a loft conversion away! 🏡✨
