Swansea has been hit by extensive flooding again, leaving a local barber, Ribwar Wahab, desperate and frustrated. His shop, Reb’s Razors, is located near the Cwmbwrla Roundabout, the epicentre of these recurring floods. Tuesday night’s downpour turned the roundabout into a watery trap, submerging cars and forcing road closures.

This isn’t the first time Ribwar has dealt with such disruption. He had to shutter his shop quickly as water levels rose to two feet. This repeat incident has affected his business significantly, with customers unable to reach the shop and looking elsewhere. “It’s a nightmare,” Ribwar says. “Water was coming in and damaging everything.”

The council has deployed heavy-duty pumps to manage the water, but with a blocked culvert aggravating the situation, it’s clear more needs to be done. This persistent flooding has also impacted other parts of Swansea, keeping motorists stuck for hours and causing gridlock.

Flooding is wreaking havoc on businesses and daily life in Swansea. Until long-term solutions are in place, it’s a test of patience, resilience, and seeking alternative routes for those affected. Fingers crossed for better weather and quicker resolutions! 🌧️💈
