๐จ๐จ Serial fly-tipper Stewart Evans, 41, is facing the music after repeatedly dumping fridges and furniture around Newport. Despite facing a suspended prison sentence and a 10-year criminal behaviour order, Evans just couldn’t resist taking cash for rubbish removal and dumping it illegally.

Newport Council’s enforcement team tracked him down after fly-tipped waste was linked to one of his customers. Evans was busted again for advertising his banned services on Facebook, using different profiles to keep his dirty business going.

With a history of convictions dating back to 2022, losing his waste carrier’s licence clearly wasn’t enough to put Evans off his dodgy dealings. He was caught in Gaer Vale, Newport, with rubbish that traced back to him, leading to further charges of breaching his criminal behaviour order.
Judge Richard Kember has now slapped Evans with a 15-month prison sentence after he pleaded guilty to fresh charges of fly-tipping and breaching his order. Despite claims of ill health and personal challenges, the court decided enough was enough.
Councillor Yvonne Forsey praised the custodial sentence, celebrating the vigilant work of Newportโs waste enforcement team. She declared the outcome as a strong warning to other would-be fly-tippers: the council will hunt you down if you treat the city like your personal dumping ground. ๐๏ธ๐
Letโs hope this sends the right message and helps keep our communities cleaner and greener! ๐๐ช
