While there are roles available for everyone in the new structure, some posts and teams will see changes. If some staff feel this isn’t the right path for them anymore, they’re welcome to consider the voluntary redundancy scheme, which offers the same terms previously available to academic colleagues.

Dr Paula Sanderson, COO, said they’re aware not everyone might want to continue under the new structure and have opened the scheme to eligible staff.

Rest assured, this move is not about slashing costs, but about evolving the university’s services – think of it as a new chapter for the Professional Services teams across various departments like Education, Postgraduate Research, and more.

For those worried about the changes, Cardiff University promises support and training through the consultation and beyond, ensuring everyone has a voice in the process.
