ππ² Epic Kebab Shop Showdown in Newport! ππ²

A wild scene unfolded right in the heart of Newport City Centre, leaving onlookers completely gobsmacked. Two families, each running rival kebab shops, turned the street into an impromptu battleground, with metal poles and sticks in hand. It was a clash that turned “heated discussion” into “heated confrontation!”

Firat and Yagmur Sayak, along with Savas Sayak, owners of the Atalya Kebab shop, squared off against Mehmet, Mazhar, and Murat Aksoy, the family behind Family Kebab shop. The blazing row kicked off when an initial confrontation outside Atalya escalated faster than you can say “extra chilli sauce, please!”
Caught on CCTV and phones, footage of this astonishing street brawl went viral, showing the families trading blows with anything they could grab. Witnesses watched in disbelief as the drama escalated on Commercial Street. There were even scenes reminiscent of a movie, with car windows rolled down to brandish weapons and a bin being lobbed through the air.
When the dust settled, both families retreated, leaving a trail of makeshift bandages and wounded pride. Police arrived to find gashes and slashes galore, ensuring a few hospital visits were in order. Despite the chaos, a reconciliation process between the families has begun, with local Kurdish and Turkish communities pitching in to help mend fences. ποΈβ€οΈ
In court, both sides owned up to their part in the public spectacle, with Judge Richard Kember expressing that such incidents don’t represent the values of the communities involved. Consequences were handed down, ranging from suspended sentences to community service.
This explosion of tempers might have started over kebabs, but letβs hope it ends with a dollop of peace and understanding. Stay spicy, Newport! π―βοΈ
