ππ¬π§ A new poll has sent the political sphere into a frenzy, suggesting that most Brits aren’t too chuffed with the current leadership! Over half of the UK public are calling for Keir Starmer, the Labour Prime Minister, and his Chancellor Rachel Reeves to throw in the towel. That’s right, 56% think it’s time for Starmer to step down, while only 26% are rooting for him to stay. As for Reeves? 57% say she should pack it in, and only 19% are cheering for her to stay on the job.

Just to spice things up, even among Labour voters from 2024, a notable number are crying for a change at the top. Seems like their faith in the leadership is a bit wobbly! The backdrop to all of this is Reeves’ recent pre-budget speech, where she dodged questions on potential tax hikes. Might there be a sneaky U-turn on the horizon? A whopping 77% reckon thereβs a tax increase looming, and more than half suspect Labour might not be entirely straight about their economic plans.

Curiously, Farage and Ed Davey are emerging as unlikely beacons of trust when it comes to handling the UK’s financial future, leading the trust polls over the current leadership. Starmer, who has been in office since last July, is surely feeling the heat, with his party facing recent setbacks like the shock loss of the Caerphilly seat.
As expectations mount ahead of the budget speech later this month, it’s clear that the clock is ticking for the Labour leadership to step up their game and win back the public’s confidence. βοΈπ What do you think?
