🚨 Shocking Assault in Bridgend: Elderly Man Left for Dead by Neighbour 🚨

Lyndon Griffiths, a 78-year-old retired roofer, was viciously attacked by his neighbour, Ashley Morris, in what police describe as a “brutal and unprovoked” assault. Lyndon had just returned from a shop trip to buy frozen peas and chocolate when Morris, 39, launched a terrifying attack outside their homes on the Brackla estate.

Morris has reportedly harassed Lyndon for years, but this time went much further. He punched Lyndon to the ground, pinned him down, and relentlessly targeted his head and face. The attack was so severe that Lyndon, covered in blood, was left unconscious in the street. Once he came to, he managed to stagger to his daughter’s flat and eventually received urgent medical attention.
Morris has admitted to causing grievous bodily harm with intent and is now behind bars, sentenced to 42 months in prison. Detective Constable Georgina Prince commented on the case, stating, “There has never been any sense of remorse. He is a dangerous individual and belongs in prison.”
Despite his ordeal, Lyndon showed incredible resilience by speaking out, saying, “I turned around and the next thing I knew I was waking up on the floor with him on top of me pounding my face.” Lyndon fears for his safety once Morris is released, describing him as a “psycho” who needs to be locked up.
Our thoughts are with Lyndon, wishing him strength and a speedy recovery. This horrific incident reminds us all to look out for one another and ensure justice is served. Stay safe and vigilant. 🛡️ #Bridgend #CommunitySafety #JusticeForLyndon
