The chaos unfolded on Bute Street in Butetown, where Yusaf was present during a crash. When officers approached, he lashed out, hitting PC Jabber in the eye and unleashing a brutal assault on PC Fitchett. The situation escalated, prompting further police deployment and the use of a taser on Yusaf to prevent more harm.
Even in custody, the violence didn’t end. Yusaf racially abused the officers and refused to cooperate with breathalyser tests related to the crash investigation.
Yusaf admitted to several charges, including racially/religiously aggravated harassment and assaulting an emergency worker—alongside dangerous driving and multiple driving offences. Justice has been served at Cardiff Crown Court, with a 30-month prison sentence and an extended driving ban.
