The operation didn’t just stop at one underage sale. Over 100 vapes, suspected to be illegal, were promptly confiscated. Upon closer inspection, 84 of these were actually legal and returned, but there’s more behind the scenes with ongoing enquiries directed towards a local wholesaler. 🧐

Bravo to the Police Youth Volunteers (PYVs) for playing a crucial role in this operation, testing whether local entities comply with age restrictions. Out of the businesses tested, two, thankfully, stuck to the rules when it came to selling fireworks. But the vape store in question? Not so much. 😔

PCSO Andrew Neal applauded most businesses for upholding the law, yet expressed disappointment over the incident in question, emphasising the potential dangers of neglecting these legal boundaries.

It’s an eye-opener, reminding us that community safety hinges on cooperation. Cllr Cen Phillips pointed out the importance of intelligence sharing among enforcement agencies to clamp down on such missteps and safeguard the public. 📞
