Community Food Program Sadly Closes After Helping 14,000 Families Gain Access to Affordable Groceries

Heartbreaking news for our community – after five years and offering 14,000 affordable food shops, the beloved Llanrumney Hall Community Food Pantry will be closing its doors. The decision wasn’t easy, with rising costs and a shrinking number of visitors making it financially unsustainable. They’ve been a lifeline, serving healthy, affordable food to countless households, supported by a team of incredible volunteers whose dedication has been nothing short of inspiring.

The Pantry started strong, serving 95 households weekly, but recently, that number has dwindled to 25-30. With increasing food costs and reduced donations from supermarkets, maintaining this vital service became impossible for the charity. They express heartfelt gratitude to everyone who contributed, from cash donations to food supplies – your generosity didn’t just help; it was a lifeline.
