🌟 Community Spirit Shines Bright in Rhondda! 🌟

Meet Denise Roberts and Helen Rodrick, the dynamic duo who refused to let Storm Dennis wash away the heart of their community. When Pentre Comrades Club, a beloved meeting place in the Rhondda Valley, was devastated by floodwaters five years ago, these two women decided to turn disaster into a revival.
Armed with grit, determination, and a £50,000 boost from the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund, Denise and Helen have transformed the club into a beacon of hope and togetherness. With the help of local volunteers, they rolled up their sleeves to knock down walls, rewire, and redecorate the beloved venue.

Their vision didn’t stop at just a fresh coat of paint. They’re now working on creating a community garden while planning further repairs to the roof, modernising the exterior, and installing a new water heater.
Denise reflects, “The club is so important for everyone here. It’s where people can build confidence, make new friends, and cherish the memories of those we’ve lost.” Helen adds, “I’m proud of the club but even more so of what Denise and I have achieved together. We really have become a pair of jacks of all trades!”
The efforts of these remarkable women have left a lasting impact on the community, drawing praise from the Pen y Cymoedd Wind Farm Community Fund. Executive director Kate Breeze said, “Denise and Helen truly are champions of their community, and it’s wonderful to see the club revitalised.”
This isn’t just a story of rebuilding a club; it’s about reigniting the spirit of a community. Here’s to the power of friendship, resilience, and a dash of DIY! 🛠️💪 #RhonddaRevival #CommunityHeroes #PentrePride
