A shocking drive-thru experience has left a mum and her son vowing never to eat at McDonald’s again. Susan Badham and her 10-year-old son, William, were enjoying a box of nuggets when William noticed something crawling in their meal. To their horror, Susan later discovered five maggots squirming in their nuggets, with one even trapped in the batter!

Feeling queasy yet? After the unsettling discovery, Susan contacted McDonald’s and the local council but was left frustrated by their slow response. She couldn’t believe McDonald’s offered her four free meals as compensation! Like she wanted more maggot meals? It’s no surprise she turned them down and shared her story to warn others.

The incident left them both feeling ill, with symptoms like nausea and diarrhoea kicking in the very next day. Susan’s biggest concern? How many others might have unknowingly eaten maggots beneath the batter over time? It’s something to chew on next time you hit the drive-thru.
Medway Council health inspectors visited the location but found no signs of a pest problem. McDonald’s assures that food safety is their top priority, and they are taking the claim seriously. But for Susan, the damage is already done. “I was shocked and disgusted,” she said, adding that she never wants to eat there again—even though she previously loved it!
The takeaway from this not-so-happy meal? Always check your food, and if something seems off, speak up. Food safety is a serious matter we all deserve. Have you ever had a food ordering horror story? Share in the comments below! 🍟🤢👀
