Ieuan Crump, a 27-year-old NHS trainee health worker, has been found guilty of shocking sexual assaults at Grange Hospital in Cwmbran. On different occasions back in August 2021, Crump targeted two female patients during bladder scans, abusing his position of trust to carry out these horrific acts.

During the trial at Cardiff Crown Court, one victim bravely shared how Crump assaulted her in the presence of a female colleague, and later, when alone, claimed he needed to check for swelling—repeating the vile attack. Another victim recounted how he inappropriately touched her and asked if she felt sore, even opening her legs during the scan.

Despite denying the allegations, the court found him guilty of a total of nine sexual assault charges, including three of assault by penetration. His defence described him as a “man of impeccable character,” yet the jury’s unanimous verdicts spoke loudly.

Crump now faces a looming prison sentence, with the judge confirming incarceration is inevitable. Until sentencing on December 18, he remains on bail but must sign the sex offenders’ register. Previously, a trial for these same offences was held in 2024 but ended without a conclusion.
