Former football club chairman, Nicky O’Connor, has found himself in the spotlight, but not for reasons anyone would want. O’Connor, who was also a taxi driver, is currently on trial at Swansea Crown Court facing serious accusations from multiple women. Allegations include sexual assault and exposure incidents at events ranging from a wedding to supermarket car parks.

O’Connor stands firm in his denial of all 15 charges, which span from early 2023 to late 2024. He asserts that any exposure was accidental, claiming his actions were due to a longstanding medical condition causing him discomfort “down below.” The court listened intently as he described how he might have been scratching or adjusting himself, but not exposing himself intentionally.

At the time of the alleged incidents, O’Connor was chairman of Swansea’s Plough Colts FC and was also working for Oyster Cabs. Testifying in his defence, he admitted to being quite inebriated at a wedding event, having consumed a hefty mix of beer and gin. He doesn’t dispute the drunkenness but insists he did not commit any of the alleged acts of exposure or assault, whether at the wedding, on the streets, or at a sports venue.
The trial, overseen by Judge Huw Rees, continues, as O’Connor fights to clear his name. It’s a tense courtroom battle, with O’Connor’s future and reputation hanging in the balance. Keep an eye out for more updates on this unfolding story!
