Ever wondered what’s tougher: walking 50,000 steps, hiking 50km, or burning 5,000 calories in one day? British influencer Sam Culley decided to find out the hard way! Up before dawn, Sam tackled this epic challenge with nothing but a head torch, a backpack full of snacks, and a burning curiosity.

His journey started smoothly but took a turn at the 15km mark as fatigue began to set in. By the time he reached 25km, his trusty tripod had given out, yet his determination held steady. Sam’s spirit remained unbroken even as a downpour drenched him at 35km, proving just how resilient he truly is.

After almost nine hours, Sam celebrated a milestone with 50,000 steps in the bag, a feat he declared to be the easiest of the trio. His dad joined him for the final stretch, and together they accomplished the 50km journey in just over ten hours.
The calorie-burn goal was a hefty beast, though. By the end, Sam torched 4,746 calories—an impressive number, but still shy of his target. Yet, his experiment shed light on the physical demands of each challenge. Walking 50,000 steps, while no small feat, covers less ground than a full 50km hike, making it more approachable. Meanwhile, burning 5,000 calories would require an even longer trek, sometimes topping 80,000 steps!
Sam’s adventure wasn’t just about pushing limits; it was an exploration of human endurance and curiosity. Mad respect to Sam for taking on such an epic feat and for showing us what perseverance looks like in action! 🥾⏱️🔥
