Neighbours in Gorseinon are at their wit’s end over a massive pile of rubbish surrounding a local house, and they’re calling on the council to act fast! This isn’t the first time rubbish has built up at the Frampton Road property, turning the neighbourhood into an eyesore and leaving locals frustrated.

One couple shared their ordeal, saying they’ve been promised action—first in summer, then by October—but the unsightly mess still looms large. “It’s affecting our quality of life,” they lamented, pointing out the potential fire hazards from things like soft furnishings and old gas canisters.

Despite support from local councillor Nicola Matthews and sympathetic council officials, no notable progress has been made. “Why is no one accountable for this mess?” they ask, fearing property values could plummet due to the nearby “tip.”

The council acknowledges the distress and is stepping in, having issued enforcement notices to the homeowner, who they say has been uncooperative. They plan to clear the waste themselves and seek to recover costs from the owner.
The detached property is reportedly vacant and tied up in a lengthy probate process. A former resident claims the rubbish will be cleared once the legalities are sorted. Hopefully, action comes sooner rather than later for the neighbours still living in the rubbish’s shadow!
