🏉 Big news for Welsh rugby fans! With a slew of players out, Scarlets star Ellis Mee is set for a call-up to the Wales squad, just in time for the showdown against world champions South Africa this Saturday. It’s all hands on deck for coach Steve Tandy as he juggles the squad in light of 13 players being unavailable, largely due to the match falling outside the official international window.

The back-three is particularly understocked as Louis Rees-Zammit heads back to Bristol Bears and Josh Adams sits out with a suspension following a red card incident in the Japan game. But with Ellis Mee’s impressive performances in previous Six Nations matches and his knack for a thrilling aerial play, he’s expected to make a strong impact.
Tandy is also likely to bolster the team further, especially as Wales are light on loosehead props. With Nicky Smith and Rhys CarrĂ© back to their clubs, Gareth Thomas and Danny Southworth remain, but more cover is required. Eyes are on Ospreys’ Garyn Phillips to step up, with fellow Ospreys forward James Ratti possibly joining to cover both lock and back-row positions.

Despite coming up short against the All Blacks, Tandy remains optimistic, “We’ll assess the injuries and look at a few reinforcements. It’s all about preparing for the champions.”

Stay tuned for a thrilling week in Welsh rugby as they brace for one of the year’s biggest matches! 🙌 #WalesRugby #Scarlets #EllisMee #SpringboksClash
