Exciting news for ice cream lovers! The company behind iconic treats like Magnum, Twister, Solero, and Viennetta has announced a massive £50 million upgrade to its Gloucester factory. This significant investment is set to amp up production by 50% by 2027, modernising infrastructure and boosting efficiency with new high-speed lines for all your favourite classics.

The Gloucester site is already a powerhouse, being the second-largest ice cream factory in Europe, producing over 600 million ice creams each year. It proudly serves the UK market with nearly three million Calippos and two million Viennettas rolling out every week! And remember the world’s longest Viennetta record? Yep, that was theirs – a whopping 22.7 metres!

This impressive investment also means more for the local community – nearly 500 people are directly employed at the site, and the upgrade will support even more local jobs and skills development. It’s a win-win for both ice cream fans and the UK economy!
Peter ter Kulve, CEO, says this upgrade is a milestone in their global transformation, underscoring their long-term commitment to the UK. The enhancements include sustainable initiatives like a 5% energy efficiency boost and a 20% reduction in food waste, proving that sweet treats can be eco-friendly too.
UK Minister for Investments, Jason Stockwood, has praised the move, highlighting how it not only secures the factory’s future but also strengthens the UK’s position as a top investment hub. With this exciting development, our favourite chilled delights are set to be produced better and more efficiently than ever before. Who else is ready for more delicious Magnums and Soleros? 🎉🍦
