Shocking revelations have emerged about James ‘Jamie’ Richards, formerly the headteacher at Cadle Primary School in Swansea. The married father of two is facing accusations of exposing himself to fellow teachers, with incidents reportedly occurring during school trips and on school grounds.

During a professional standards panel hearing, a teacher, referred to as Colleague A, described how Richard allegedly exposed himself during a room inspection on a residential trip. Despite feeling shocked and shaken, Colleague A tried to forget the incident at the time, only to face similar behaviour from Richards later on.

In another alleged event two months later, Richards is reported to have repeated the act in his office, leaving the teacher upset and disturbed. Richards allegedly continued with inappropriate behaviour, making lewd comments accompanied by laugher—which Colleague A described as “goofy.”
Despite numerous complaints over the years, including one involving showing inappropriate photos during a virtual meeting, no criminal charges have been brought against Richards. An internal investigation was eventually launched in 2021 after Richards was escorted off school premises following further complaints.
Shockingly, the headteacher was caught on camera playing golf while on sick leave, leading to his formal suspension in September 2021 and eventual dismissal in 2024.
Colleague A has since expressed regret at not having reported Richards’ conduct sooner, fearing disbelief and jeopardising her career. She noted her reluctance was partly due to appreciating Richards as a likable, family-oriented individual before the incidents.
As the hearing continues, Richards has not attended or been represented, reportedly citing health issues for non-participation. He has denied the allegations through lack of engagement with the proceedings. The case remains under review by the Education Workforce Council Wales, who are responsible for overseeing education professionals.
