🏉 Heartfelt news from former England rugby captain Lewis Moody, who has revealed he feels “genuine hope” after consulting specialists about his motor neurone disease (MND) diagnosis. The rugby community and fans have shown overwhelming support and love for Moody since he shared his diagnosis in October.

The 47-year-old realised something was off when he felt shoulder weakness that physiotherapy couldn’t fix. Tests revealed nerve damage to his brain and spinal cord. His journey has been difficult, but the support has been unwavering, with a GoFundMe page raising over £200,000 thanks to friends and former Leicester Tigers teammates.

In a recent chat on the Stick to Rugby podcast, Moody opened up: “There’s a lot of love shown. I feel fine, despite the news constantly in the back of my mind. Your kindness truly helps.”
Exciting news for supporters of MND awareness: Rugby great Kevin Sinfield has extended an invitation to Moody to join his ‘7 in 7: Together’ challenge. Sinfield will run seven ultramarathons in seven days, wanting Moody to witness the immense support from the MND community.
Sinfield expressed: “Lewis is a great guy, a loving family man. It would be fantastic to have him with us, to feel the love and support that’s out there.”
Let’s continue to support Moody and the MND community. These acts of love and solidarity offer real hope. 🫶 #RugbyFamily #MNDHope #SupportLewisMoody
