Amber was surprisingly sent home shortly after surgery, despite her parents’ concerns given her CVS. The next morning, she began vomiting and was re-admitted to the hospital, but tragically suffered a fatal haemorrhage days later.
This devastating incident has led Amber’s parents to urge all parents to “trust their instincts.” They stress the importance of voicing concerns if worried about surgical procedures for their children. They fondly remember Amber as a “beautiful, joyful and brave” little girl, and express gratitude for the honesty of the medical staff during the investigation.
“The death of a child is unimaginable. We never thought a common operation could take Amber away from us,” said the Milnes. They hope their story will help other families facing similar situations.
