Big shake-up in the boxing world! Ellie Scotney, the talented unified and Ring Magazine world champ, is known for her unbeatable moves in the ring and her sharp insights as a BBC boxing pundit. She was supposed to dazzle in a fight against Mayelli Flores on the undercard of Jake Paul’s big exhibition night, but an injury took her out. The match was cancelled, but don’t worry—Paul will now face Anthony Joshua soon!
Ellie’s journey from stacking shelves to stacking titles is nothing short of inspiring. She left her job at B&Q, swapped her orange bucket hat for boxing gloves, and the rest is history. With her remarkable rise, she became the youngest Brit set to compete for the undisputed world championship, once she recovers.
But the drama doesn’t end there. In a surprising twist, she got pulled from the Taylor vs. Cameron card because of friction between her coach and a main event fighter. Ellie expressed heartbreak over the decision, saying a fellow fighter’s insistence took away her dream fight.
Chantelle Cameron, the accused fighter, explained it’s all about maintaining her mental edge for a big fight in Dublin, though couldn’t say much due to an NDA with Ellie’s coach. This, she says, was the root of lots of past struggles, but legal constraints gagged her from going into details.
Even with the setback, Ellie’s not stepping out of the spotlight. She’s got big fights ahead and keeps the world buzzing with her spirited presence. And did you know her journey got a kickstart through a DM to Jake Paul? Even if he missed it at first, the rest, as they say, is history. Keep an eye on this powerhouse boxer; her story is just getting started! 🥊✨
