🎄🐶 Get ready for a heartwarming Christmas treat! Reality TV star Pete Wicks is back with a holiday special of “Pete Wicks: For Dogs’ Sake,” airing December 8th at 9pm on U and U&W.
The show, which shines a spotlight on Britain’s biggest canine rehoming charity, has sparked a surge in dog adoptions and donations. Thanks to Pete’s passionate advocacy, adoption applications have soared by 20%, and charitable contributions are up by 25%. The star, known for his love of dogs, says, “Rescue dogs have an incredible ability to love despite their past – and that’s truly inspiring.”
Beyond TV, Pete recently recorded a podcast for Men’s Mental Health Month featuring Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer. Sharing personal stories about love, loss, and the healing power of dogs, Pete opened up about his own struggles. “The only time I feel truly safe is around my dogs,” he revealed, emphasising that the calming influence of pets is scientifically proven.
The need for dog adoption is as urgent as ever, with more than 40,000 enquiries from owners unable to keep their pets this year. Pete urges, “If you’re prepared to give love and safety to a dog, then adopt. If not, it’s okay – just be honest.”
The festive episode also features appearances by Strictly’s Vicky Pattison and Good Morning Britain’s Charlotte Hawkins. Charlotte, also a Dogs Trust ambassador, said, “This show is very close to my heart. Expect tears, laughter, and plenty of warmth.”
So, cuddle up with your furry friends and tune in for a Christmas special that promises to tug at your heartstrings and maybe even inspire you to make a difference!
