The action kicked off with Sophie Ingle scoring her second goal in as many games, taking advantage of a mix-up from the Swiss defence. The lead was short-lived as Aurelie Csillag quickly equalised for Switzerland. But Hannah Cain restored hope for Wales, showcasing her skills with a cheeky lob over the Swiss keeper, thanks to a perfectly placed free-kick from Ingle.

Just as the second half began, Lily Woodham extended Wales’ lead further. Despite the setback of losing Liverpool’s Ceri Holland to a possible hamstring injury on her 50th cap, and a Swiss goal from Iman Beney following a defensive error, Wales held firm till the final whistle.
