🏉 Exciting times for Welsh rugby fans! The 2027 Rugby World Cup draw has taken place in Sydney, and it’s all about discovering who Wales will face on the big stage in Australia. This tournament is set to be like no other – it’s expanding from 20 to 24 teams, meaning more competition and more excitement!
Wales have secured their spot in Band 2 thanks to their thrilling win over Japan. This means they’ll avoid other second seeds initially, but a clash with a top-tier team is inevitable. Will it be the strength of South Africa, reigning champs and the stuff of nightmares, or perhaps Argentina, considered a favourable match-up on paper? We’ll soon find out!
In the lower bands, Wales could face emerging teams like Chile or Hong Kong, but they need to stay cautious of seasoned challengers like Georgia, who’ve proven tough opponents in the past, and Samoa, who could spring surprises.
It’s a big day, full of anticipation and strategy for Wales and coach Steve Tandy as the draw sets the path for the next Rugby World Cup.
