🔄 Another political shake-up in Gwent! Nicholas Jones, who once ran as a Conservative candidate for Newport West and Islwyn, has made a bold move by switching allegiance to Reform UK. This makes him the second Conservative to cross the floor in Pontypool Community Council, following in the footsteps of Stephen Senior earlier this year.

Jones, previously serving as a Torfaen Borough Councillor and now representing the New Inn Upper ward on the community council, stated that the Conservatives have “stopped listening” to the needs of the Welsh people. He believes Reform UK is the key to breaking the political mold and driving prosperity back into overlooked areas.

This switch leaves the Conservatives with just two councillors in the Labour-dominated council and adds another voice for Reform UK, which is gaining traction with representation already in Trevethin through Sarah Lang.

Could Reform UK be the new force to reckon with in Welsh politics? 🤔 Let us know what you think in the comments! #Politics #Wales #ReformUK #LocalNews
