A shocking tale of stalking and intimidation has come to light, with Rhys Lewis, 33, behind bars after causing utter distress to his ex-partner. Over a stretch of five months, Lewis bombarded his former partner with abusive voice messages and unwanted appearances, leaving her in a state of fear and despair.

This wasn’t just a case of spiteful words; Lewis went to extreme lengths, even sending chilling photos wielding weapons, sending the message that harm was near. His reign of emotional torment began when their relationship ended due to his abusive behaviour, continuing until his conviction at Cardiff Crown Court.

The victim’s plight worsened with her phone flooded with more than 278 abusive messages, even though she attempted to sever contact by changing her number. Attacks on her character were relentless, and on multiple occasions, Lewis physically appeared out of nowhere, making her life a living nightmare.
Despite his past involving domestic violence, this didn’t deter Lewis, who continued to engage in haunting behaviours. A search of his home uncovered a worrying collection of weapons, further escalating the severity of his actions.
Cardiff Crown Court sentenced Lewis to 25 months behind bars for stalking and offensive weapon possession. A restraining order has been enacted to protect the victim and prevent any further contact. Lewis’s past struggles with substances and untreated mental health issues came up during sentencing, but the judge stressed the gravity of his repeated intimidation tactics.
