🚨 Shocking Crash in Cardiff 🚨

A terrifying head-on collision took place on Leckwith Road, Cardiff, when a white Citroen Dispatch van driven by Kabeer Yassen veered into the wrong lane. The van, over the legal alcohol limit, smashed into a Ford Kuga, leaving David Rodd and his aunt, Anne Parker, with severe injuries. Witnesses report the van crossing the white line before crashing, and an off-duty police officer at the scene noticed the smell of alcohol on Yassen’s breath.

Yassen, 43, has a history of driving offences and wasn’t supposed to be behind the wheel, as he was already disqualified. After the crash, tests showed he had more than twice the legal alcohol limit in his blood.

Tragically, the crash left Mr Rodd with broken ribs, a punctured lung, and severe bruising. His aunt Anne also suffered multiple broken ribs. Both are on the long road to recovery, with Mr Rodd facing psychological hurdles alongside physical pain.
In court, Yassen pleaded guilty to several charges, including causing serious injury and drink-driving. He was sentenced to eight months in prison and faces a two-year driving ban post-release.
This harrowing incident serves as a stark reminder of the dangers of drink-driving. Our thoughts are with the victims and their families during this challenging time. 🙏 #DrinkDrivingAwareness #StaySafe
