ππΎ Attention Pet Owners! Royal Mail has made a heartfelt plea to keep deliveries safe this festive season. Amidst the hustle and bustle of Christmas cards and gifts, our beloved postal workers are busy ensuring everything arrives on time. But they need your help, especially if you have furry friends at home.

π¬ Dogs, even the friendliest ones, can become territorial and unpredictable when someone new approaches their home. To keep everyone safe, Royal Mail advises following a simple ‘ten-minute rule’: secure your dog out of the way before the post arrives, perhaps in the back garden or a different room. Keep your pooch entertained with a toy or treat, and wait ten minutes after your mail has been delivered before letting them back into the hallway.

πͺ Top Tips from Royal Mail:
1. Keep your dog in another room when you open the door.
2. Teach kids not to open the door if the dog is nearby.
3. Consider using a mailbox if your dog likes to attack mail.
Let’s work together to protect our postal heroes and ensure they have a safe holiday season. Your cooperation is key to avoiding unwanted dog-postie encounters.
π¬ As Lizz Lloyd from Royal Mail says, “Dog attacks remain one of the most significant safety risks faced by postal workers.” So, letβs make this Christmas a safe one for all! π π¦
