Due to a spike in flu and respiratory illnesses, a Welsh health board has reinstated mandatory face masks in hospitals starting today, 11th December 2025. 😷 Staff and visitors must wear masks in all clinical and patient-facing areas to curb the spread and safeguard everyone’s health.
Sharon Daniel from Hywel Dda University Health Board highlighted the rise in flu cases not just in hospitals but throughout the community. The board urges everyone to cooperate by wearing masks and staying informed about any changes. Masks are available at hospital entry points for your convenience.
For visitors, here’s a gentle reminder: please visit only if you’re feeling well. Wait 48 hours after any flu, cold, or stomach bug symptoms before coming by. This helps protect our most vulnerable patients and ensures our staff stay healthy to care for those in need. 💪
While visiting restrictions are currently not in place, this could change quickly if illnesses continue to rise. So, please do your bit by following guidelines.
