🔒 School Drama in Carmarthen!

On Wednesday, the afternoon at Ysgol Bro Myrddin took an unexpected turn as the school went into a full lockdown. Armed officers from Dyfed-Powys Police swung into action after a chilling threat was made against a pupil. The school was placed on high alert, and everyone stayed put in their classrooms for about 90 minutes while buses queued outside, waiting for the green light.

By evening, the lockdown was lifted, and things returned to normal on Thursday. However, to ensure everyone felt safe, police kept a visible presence at the school gates.

The big update? A 17-year-old boy, who isn’t a student at the school, has been arrested on suspicion of making threats to kill. This arrest happened off school grounds, and the investigation is still ongoing.
Dyfed-Powys Police have assured that they’re on the case, keeping the community’s safety as their top priority. Meanwhile, life at Ysgol Bro Myrddin continues, with pupils back to their usual routines and the wonderful teaching staff doing what they do best.
It’s a reminder of the unity and quick action from the school and police to keep our kids safe. Let’s keep cheering on and supporting our local schools! 👏 #CommunitySafety #CarmarthenNews #BackToSchool
