Struggling to recognise herself in an unflattering work photo from 2021, Sinead Hatter decided it was time for a change. At 35, she was dealing with the passing of her mother from cancer in 2019, and the emotional rollercoaster had her seeking comfort in food. Sinead found herself at 13st 13lbs, feeling stuck and exhausted.

Determined to reclaim her happiness and health, Sinead embarked on a transformative journey, focusing on nutrition and fitness. She learned about healthy eating, monitored her meals with MyFitnessPal, and started taking daily walks. Consistency became her mantra as she aimed to lose three stone by early 2022.

As the pounds began to melt away, Sinead’s enthusiasm for exercise grew. She joined group classes like legs, bums, and tums, which quickly became a staple in her routine. Spin and body combat classes, paired with strength training and a daily step goal of 10,000, helped her shed over six stone in just 18 months.

Today, Sinead has not only dropped 10 dress sizes, but she’s also gained energy and confidence. Her milestone achievements include running her fifth half marathon, raising funds for the hospice that supported her mother, and studying nutrition and mental health to guide others.
“It’s about more than just weight,” says Sinead. “It’s proving I can stick with something and make lasting changes.” Her partner’s gym in Milton Keynes is a testament to her incredible journey, offering support and inspiration to others.
Sinead’s advice? Embrace consistency, be kind to yourself, and focus on building a new, healthier lifestyle. “If you think it’s too hard to lose weight, it’s not. Just decide to change and take the first step.”
