💔 Heartbreaking scenes at Bondi Beach. As a Brit who recently made Bondi my home, last evening’s tragedy shook me to the core. What started as a lively, sun-dappled evening with friends turned surreal with the sound of sirens filling the air.

Just moments before the unthinkable happened, I was soaking up the sun and enjoying the beach vibes. The streets were alive with laughter and music. My friends and I parted ways at around 6:20pm, unknowingly just moments before chaos struck. What we initially thought were fireworks turned out to be gunshots—a chilling realisation that came with a flood of messages urging us to stay indoors.

In a haze of confusion and fear, I frantically checked on my loved ones. Living far from my home country, my friends here have become like family, and the relief at knowing they were safe was immense. But the pain is real for those who sadly can’t say the same. My heart goes out to the victims and their families. 🌹

Being so close to such a tragedy is surreal. The relentless sound of helicopters and sirens throughout the night was a stark reminder of the horrific events. As the details emerged, learning that even children were among the victims was utterly devastating.
This morning, Bondi is a place in mourning. The air is heavy with shock and sorrow, especially within the Jewish community, who were the main targets of this heinous act of violence. It’s a harsh reminder of the fragile world we live in, where a place that felt so safe and warm can transform in an instant.
As flowers pile up at memorials and helicopters continue to circle above, let’s stand together in support and love. Stay safe, everyone. 💔 #BondiStrong #StaySafe
