After 25 incredible years, Boofy’s, the iconic fish and chip shop on Barry Island, is closing its doors for good in the New Year. Known for its mouth-watering fish and chips and its cameo appearances in Gavin & Stacey, this beloved spot is truly a Barry treasure.

Located on the Western Arcade, Boofy’s has been a go-to for seaside visitors, including the cast of the popular BBC sitcom. Fun fact: James Corden snapped some pics with the team during the filming of the final episode!

In a heartfelt message on Facebook, the team at Boofy’s shared: “It’s time to hang up my boots. Thank you all for visiting us, eating with us, and generally being part of our family.”

If you’re looking to grab a final taste, Boofy’s will be open from December 19th to 23rd and again from December 27th to January 4th. They’ll be closed on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, and Boxing Day, so plan your visit accordingly!
