Exciting news for Bridgend! Plans have been submitted to transform the site of a former care home into 120 new homes. Positioned south of Bridgend, between the A48 and New Inn Road, this 7.28-hectare site could soon see the old Llanerch Residential Home and Craig Y Parcau boys home make way for a vibrant new community.

The development proposal by Bellway Homes features a range of two to five-bedroom homes, complete with private drives and car parking spaces. Plus, 24 homes are earmarked as affordable housing. The design thoughtfully retains many existing trees and ancient woodland, preserving some of the site’s natural beauty.
The proposed plan boasts a strategic location near the A48, offering easy access to Bridgend town centre. It’s designed to meet the housing needs of Bridgend County, in line with the local council’s development vision.

A pre-application consultation in November 2025 gathered community feedback, highlighting concerns like increased traffic and pedestrian safety. Now, Bridgend Council’s planning department will review these plans in the months ahead. Could this be the fresh start Bridgend needs? Stay tuned!
