**Warning Issued as Swans in Cardiff Fall Victim to Bird Flu**

Tragic news from Cardiff as bird flu has been confirmed in swans found dead at the popular Roath Park. The council has advised everyone to steer clear of sick or dead birds and asked folks not to feed wild birds in public areas. This comes after similar concerns were raised with a case in Cardiff Bay earlier this month.

Although the risk to public health remains low, it’s crucial to be cautious. If you do come into contact with dead birds or their surroundings, make sure to wash your hands thoroughly—better safe than sorry!

Sadly, due to the outbreak, the RSPCA had to make the difficult decision to humanely euthanise several swans to alleviate their distress at Roath Park. Authorities have already collected the deceased swans and plan additional measures as needed.
Your cooperation can really help in preventing the spread of this virus. Cardiff Council urges everyone to follow these guidelines for the safety of both our community and our feathered friends.
Stay safe and look out for each other! 🦢❤️
