🗣️ Clucas opened up about the tricky balancing act of dealing with a hefty price tag and being unfairly compared to fan-favourite Gylfi Sigurdsson. He joined Swansea from Hull City back in 2017, hoping for a perfect match with their style. Unfortunately, despite his efforts, the Swans were relegated after a tough season under Carlos Carvalhal, where Clucas found himself on the receiving end of criticism.
👟 “I enjoyed my time at Hull and wasn’t really looking to move,” Clucas shared in an interview, highlighting the challenges he faced. But being lured back to the Premier League with Swansea was a chance too good to pass up. Despite the tough season, he has fond memories of playing and living in Wales.
⚽ Now 35, Clucas is enjoying his stint at Shrewsbury Town in League Two. “Football is the best job in the world,” he says, as passionate as ever. Despite a rocky start at Shrewsbury, he’s loving the challenge and aims to showcase why he once played at the top level.
