Plans have been unveiled for 51 brand new council homes in the Vale of Glamorgan, set to rise on Clive Road, St Athan. With the council’s go-ahead, this new housing initiative aims to provide much-needed affordable homes in the area.
Partnering with Edenstone Homes Ltd., the council is on track to expand its housing stock. The project will include a mix of home types to suit various needs: 24 one-bed apartments, 12 two-bed houses, 11 three-bed houses, and 4 spacious four-bed homes. All properties will be available for social rent in line with the council’s affordable rent policy.
Once planning consent is in, construction will commence. The design team is already hard at work, fine-tuning plans to get ready for a detailed planning application. The strategic housing board is fully behind this scheme, recognising the pressing need to increase council housing availability.
