🌴 Escape to Paradise: How This UK Couple Cut Costs and Boosted Life Quality in Thailand 🌴

Feeling exhausted by long hours and the hustle of UK life, Roshni Ward and Louis Hunt decided to make a bold move. The couple swapped their busy schedules in Rye, East Sussex, for the laid-back vibes of Chiang Mai, Thailand, last September—and their lives have changed dramatically.

Why Thailand? Well, they’ve slashed their rent by a whopping two-thirds. Their monthly accommodation costs plummeted from a hefty £1,350 to just £300, which includes access to a gym and swimming pool. Water and utility bills are a fraction of what they were back in the UK, and a 20-minute taxi ride sets them back a mere £1.50. Imagine that!

But the savings are just the beginning. The couple cited safer surroundings, stunning weather, and the warm Thai culture as reasons for their relocation. Roshni, now a content creator, and Louis, a newly minted online fitness coach, both enjoy working remotely while basking in the sunny lifestyle.
Weekends are now about exploring vibrant temples, enjoying delicious £8 meals, and meeting other expats. “There’s something for everyone here,” Roshni shares. And it doesn’t hurt that a pint of beer costs £2.
One downside? Imported Bisto costs £5, but with savings like these, they’re not complaining! Overall, the couple cherishes the slower pace and newfound work-life balance Thailand has to offer.
Will they ever move back to the UK? “We’re so much happier here,” says Roshni. “Life in Thailand has given us more time for ourselves, and it feels like home.”
