Liam Belcher, the Cardiff Rugby captain, recently opened up about a nerve injury in his neck that temporarily left him powerless in his arm and caused numbness right before a big match against the All Blacks. The 29-year-old hooker shared that this nerve issue escalated during the week leading up to the game, with troubling symptoms starting from his little finger and spreading up to his tricep.

Describing the ordeal as “scary,” Belcher revealed, “I’ve never experienced anything like it before. I lost power in my tricep and grip, and it was a waiting game to see how long recovery would take.”
Thankfully, after a four-week recovery period, Belcher made a triumphant return against the Scarlets. “Both Cardiff and the Wales medical teams were fantastic. They gave me the confidence to come back,” he noted. His comeback saw him performing at his finest, delivering some trademark moves that defy his size.

Belcher, who made his Wales Test debut in Japan this year, is eyeing a spot in the squad for the upcoming Six Nations. With captain Dewi Lake and other strong candidates in the mix, competition is fierce, but Belcher remains hopeful to continue building on his four-cap international career.
After missing out on clashes against New Zealand, South Africa, and the start of Cardiff’s Challenge Cup campaign, his grit and determination to bounce back are truly admirable. Here’s to seeing him in top form, ready to take on the rugby world once more! 🏉💪🌟
