Welsh darts star Gerwyn “The Iceman” Price is ready to rumble with YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul! After Paul’s smashing bout with heavyweight legend Anthony Joshua left him nursing a double broken jaw and a bruised ego, Price stepped into the fray with a bold claim. Confidently stating he could take down Paul with a single punch, Price didn’t hold back, saying, “He’s a YouTuber, not a fighter. One punch, and it’s over.”
Jake Paul, clearly up for the banter, slid right into Price’s messages, daring him to name his price for a showdown. Despite the fiery exchange, the 40-year-old Price jokingly admitted he’s got a bit of training to do before stepping into the ring.
Price, who has a background in rugby before conquering the darts world, had previously planned to box in a charity match but had to withdraw on medical advice. Meanwhile, Paul showed some real grit in Miami, astonishing fans by almost lasting the full eight rounds against Joshua, only to be stopped in the sixth round. Paul’s boxing prowess is continually growing, but Price is convinced he’d have the upper hand.
While Paul recovers from his brutal encounter, Price is also bouncing back from a recent darts defeat to underdog Wesley Plaisier. Ever the sportsman, he graciously praised his opponent and shared heartfelt thanks to his supporters, wishing everyone a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
