A night out turned chaotic at the Carwyn James pub in Llanelli earlier this month, leaving patrons absolutely gobsmacked. Robert Oakley, after a few too many drinks, made terrifying threats to some punters, asking one man, “Do you want to die?” and even threatening to stab him with a screw hidden in his pocket.

Things went from bad to worse as Oakley’s aggressive behaviour escalated. After causing damage inside the pub, he tried to dodge the police by jumping out of a window and making a run for it. His antics didn’t stop there – he ended up urinating in a police vehicle once officers caught up with him.
In court, Oakley, who admitted to taking substances, plead guilty to multiple charges, including threats to kill, common assault, and criminal damage. His lawyer highlighted recent personal struggles, including the loss of his father, and Oakley’s reliance on alcohol during tough times.

Judge Huw Rees didn’t hold back, describing Oakley’s behaviour as nothing short of disgraceful. The 28-year-old, who doesn’t have a fixed address, has been sentenced to two years in prison. He’ll serve half of the term in custody before being released on licence.
What a night it turned out to be, not the festive outing anyone expected! Let’s hope it’s a reminder to all about keeping it cool during the holiday season.
