With the festive season upon us, Bishop is chasing glory in the prestigious Coral Welsh Grand National at Chepstow. Partnering with Curtis, they’re pinning their hopes on Haiti Couleurs, a horse known for its resilience and endurance, echoing Bishop’s own journey from the rugby field to the racetrack.

Bishop explains, “Horse racing has given me a new lease of life. It’s very different from rugby, but I get the same adrenaline rush.” It’s a race against time, as Curtis prepares Haiti Couleurs for Saturday’s big event, following a remarkable recovery from a back injury that had cast doubts on his capability.

The Welsh Grand National holds a special place in Curtis and Bishop’s hearts. Bishop reflects on the camaraderie and discipline reminiscent of his rugby days, “There’s always a hard-working team behind any successful horse. It’s like being part of a family.”

With champion jockey Sean Bowen at the helm, Haiti Couleurs could well defy the odds, carrying high hopes and even higher weights.

Stay tuned for the excitement, as this former rugby ace watches his hopes thunder down the home stretch. Could this be the year for both past and present triumphs? ✨🐴✨
