In a tragic event just days before Christmas, 34-year-old Mathew Hardy, described as “gentle and kind”, lost his life in a crash near Porthmadog, Gwynedd. Mathew, from Pwllheli, sadly passed away at the scene following a collision between a car and a truck on December 20.


His grieving family remembers him as an incredible son, partner, brother, and friend, sharing that he was eagerly anticipating the arrival of a baby girl. Mathew had just moved into a new home and was looking forward to fatherhood.

In a heartfelt statement, the family shared: “Our lives have changed forever with the loss of Mathew. There are no words for the pain we feel. His gentle, calm, and kind nature was deeply loved and will be deeply missed. We appreciate everyone’s kindness and support, and ask for privacy during this difficult time.”
